Alter handles the design, editorial, sales, production, printing, and distribution. Overture is a quarterly magazine for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It ranges from 48 to 64 pages.

Alter was awarded this account in May 2004 and was tasked with elevating the design and overall strategy of the magazine. The content is heavily program-note oriented, a constant that will not change, but we were able to slowly introduce new elements so people would take it home with them and read it more thoroughly. The demographics for Overture are outstanding and it continues to attract new advertisers. We achieved a 15 percent increase in advertising revenue in four issues.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is excited to be working with Alter Communications this year.  It became apparent early on that Alter understands and shares our vision of creating a dynamic, inviting, and enriching cultural arts magazine.  Their footprint in the Baltimore market and the region will be a real asset in increasing readership and distribution of the publication.
