Gorgeous evening on the water at the Inner Harbor on Wed. July 25, as I joined the media and invited guests to see Watermark’s brand new ‘Raven’ charter cruise boat. It was fun to mingle and to see the mayor Christen the new vessel. The following night, I buzzed by the opening party for the beautiful new Anthropologie store on the circle in Harbor East (you’ll see more about it and the other new stores there in the new Sept/Oct issue of Style, out Aug. 28). On Sat., July 28, I went to the BBQ & Pool Party at Clipper Mill, organized by Chip Watkins. Fun crowd (both in and out of the pool), great picnic-style food by Woodberry Kitchen, beers by Flying Dog Brewery and DJs playing beats around the pool all evening. In the crowd: Tom & Brianne Brinkley, Barbie Hargrave, Jen Berg, Jim Halle, Bruce Alderman and Celeste Corsaro. On Wed., Aug. 1, I joined Style fashion editor Suzin Boddiford for a cocktail and dinner party at the Ritz-Carlton, hosted by Jennifer Grove of Sky Blue Events. The 5-course dinner was planned by chef Beej Flamholz, and Chanel beauty products were presented to dinner guests as well. You can see pix and read more about both of these events in the new upcoming issue as well.) And on Tues., Aug. 7, I attended the annual Crab Bash at the Hotel Monaco, where foodies and crab fans checked out the 10 stations from local restaurants offering crab specialites throughout the hotel. Throughout the evening I chatted with industry folks like chef Jerry Edwards, Chris Spann of The Wine Market, Glen Breining from The Corner, Elan Kotz of The Food Market, WJZ-TV’s Adam May, PR maven Dot Fuchs and food blogger Dara Bunjon. My personal fave dishes? Toss-up between the B&O Brasserie‘s chef Thomas Dunklin‘s jumbo crab balls and the yummy dish from The Food Market.
